Mind Body Soul

May 4th will be the 12th year of the Mind Body Soul and it continues to grow and grow.

Because of the great support we will be having 48 divisions for children, 14 more than last year.  This will allow children to be separated into smaller divisions of with closer weight classes and be more fair.

We will also have 97 Adult Divisions, Again more than last year with the newest division being an Executive Divisions for competitors over 35 years old.

In all, almost 150 divisions!

In an effort to save paper, we are posting our poster for the event here.  If you or your school would like to print one off please do, but limit yourself to 1 or 2 per school.

Lane brought out a great team and was a very close second last year.  This year his team did a fantastic job and brought home the trophy for their great coach.

Competitors must show up and confirm registration 1 hour before their scheduled start time.

9:30 – All Children`s divisions start

10am – Adv and Elite BJJ

11am – Novice and Intmediate BJJ

12pm – Muay Thai and Kickboxing

1pm – Advanced and Elite No Gi

2pm – Novice and Intermediate No Gi

2:30pm – Absolute BJJ

3pm – Pankration

3:30pm – Absolute No Gi

Please be sure to read the rules and have ALL the gear you need.

Gear will not be sold at this event.

With a week left before pre registration closes, I thought it would be a good time to show off our new medals.

This medal is for ALL comepetitors.  Make sure you`re in good shape, this medals weighs almost a pound!

The event is scheduled for June 2nd at the Millwoods Recreation Centre.Be sure to check the Division Page to ensure you register in the proper divisions.

Weigh ins will be done the DAY OF.  Please plan on this when entering your weight (What it will be June 2nd, without the Gi on, must be t shirt and shorts, NOT underwear).

FEES:

Those that pre-register AND bring their printed email confirmation, will only pay-

$40 for 1 division and $10 for each division thereafter

Those that register the day of will be charged-

$60 for 1 division and $10 for each thereafter

For those that DO NOT make the weight they entered, there will be a administration charge of-

$25 for the first division and $5 for each division thereafter.

We are confident this method of pre-registration will greatly speed up the match making process (the most time consuming part).  Please be sure of your divisions and weight.

Some things we learn in life only through challenges presented to us, we are a product of our environment.  Therefore we must leave our comfort zone from time to time to grow in character.  Martial Arts tournaments afford us the opportunity to challenge ourselves and realize our potential.

By attending our tournaments children and adults alike will be able to:

• A: Demonstrate acquired Martial Art skill in front of family members and friends, developing courage and concentration.

• B: Learn to cope and perform under pressure situations, learning how they best handle stress.

• C: Meet like-minded people aspiring to achieve similar individual goals, acquiring life long friends along the way.

Beginners encouraged!

This year, with the new venue, brings something we have been wanting to do for a long time.

Competitors will be separated from spectators while on the floor.

Only parents of a child currently competing, and coaches with approved passes (to be issued day of) may be on the competition floor with their athlete.

Schools with 1-9 competitors will receive one pass

School with 10-19 competitors will receive two passes

Schools with more than 20 competitors will receive three passes

Passes ARE transferable within your school and extra passes must be requested before hand and are available for $20 each.
